VPN to connect Gate Gourmet's kitchens
Airline and catering logistics company supports worldwide SAP installation with outsourced scalable network service.

Gate Gourmet has signed a three-year contract for internet protocol (IP) virtual private network (VPN) services.
The airline and logistics company has taken the outsourced network provision and extended service and fault management from Orange Business Services in a multi-million euro deal that will be used to support it's global SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Gate Gourmet's ERP instance is used to provide production control for operational processes ranging from materials forecasting to control of labour systems and standardisation of menus and processes and invoicing.
And the new IP VPN services include end-to-end service level agreements to support the company's corporate applications, including its critical ERP system and to connect around 100 of Gate Gourmet's corporate and kitchen sites around the world.
The company is already seeing an optimisation of its business processes and procedures, as well as supply chains and benefits from daily cost control, enabling it to adhere to any compliance request, while also providing a future-proofed and scaleable network infrastructure that can be expanded as its business grows further.
Gate Gourmet also wanted to make sure the network could easily integrate voice and video to further drive down IT spending.
Diana Leonard, senior vice president of the Americas at Orange Business Services, said: "Through this agreement, Gate Gourmet can simultaneously enhance its productivity and benefit from immediate cost savings. [We] will help Gate Gourmet optimise its current communications infrastructure, benefit from global, end-to-end service level agreements and explore future convergence solutions."
