Xobni Outlook plugin simplifies email chaos

Xobni, a smart email plug-in for Microsoft's Outlook, is now available for free download direct from the company's website.

The Xobni application, ('inbox' spelt backwards, pronounced Zob-nee), is designed to help over-burdened users effectively manage with the torrents of email that hit inboxes on a daily basis.

The program sits as a sidebar plug-in within Outlook and enables users to instantly search through their email using key terms and display all related information, such as emails, events, contacts, attachments and phone numbers.

In addition, the program lists details of all contacts associated with that email, a feature that led Bill Gates to describe the program as, "the next generation of social networking".

According to reports, Xobni hopes to eventually include other email programs such as Google Mail and Microsoft's Hotmail and applications such as Facebook and Linkedin.
