Photos: Virgin's 50Mb broadband modem
We got our hands on the first official photos of the shiny new device that will support the super-speedy service when it launches very soon.
Virgin Media is readying itself for the imminent launch of its 50Mb broadband service by showing off the kit that will enable such super speeds.
The company only recently launched its first foray into the mobile broadband space and offered existing customers a 5 special deal, but all eyes now appear to be on the high-speed prize of 50Mb, which will launch "soon' according to a tight-lipped Virgin spokesman.
Unveiling photos to tease connectivity-hungry users, Virgin also provided some details about the specs of the modem charged with the responsibility of supporting the new service.

The teaser pictures come the day after Virgin Media reported its third quarter results, which ended on 30 September and showed revenue for the period of 991 million.
"In the face of a slowdown in the general economy, our business has shown good resilience and we are focused on keeping churn low, improving our operational execution and driving unnecessary costs and inefficiencies out of the business," said Neil Berkett, Virgin Media's chief executive.
"We continue to exploit our competitive advantages in leading next generation broadband in the UK and redefining the on-demand TV experience. Our fourth quarter will mark a major milestone as we launch our unrivaled 50Mb broadband service."
