Lenovo releases IdeaPad S10e netbook
IdeaPad S10e brings 'Instant On' and an ExpressCard slot for greater expansion potential.
Lenovohas unveiled the IdeaPad S10e, an update to its S10 netbook machine, which was launched back in August.
The new update adds LED backlighting to the 1,024 x 600 resolution 10.1in display and the machine weighs in at 1.2Kg.
A new feature is Instant On, enabling quick checking of email and web browsing without having to fully boot the operating system. The OS choice is between Novell SLED 10 Linux and the more conventional Windows XP operating system.
The Intel Atom N270 processor is backed with memory capacity between 512MB or 1.5GB, while storage capacity is provided either by a 4GB SSD drive or a conventional hard disk, though offering a relatively huge 160GB of space.
Mobile broadband is not integrated but is available through an ExpressCard 34 slot. Wi-Fi is present as is an Ethernet port but Bluetooth is available as an option.
The new machine is available now and comes with a price tag of 299 including VAT.
