Photos 2008: The top IT shots of the year

Tech’s not always the most photogenic subject – unless you’ve really got a thing for wires and cables. But it can sometimes be pretty cool, if not beautiful.

Over the past year, we've run a series of photo stories, often showing all the different angles of a new piece of tech, but also looking into areas like the history of computing, the art behind malware and even Bill Gates' career.

We saw beauty in CERN's Large Hadron Collider, and couldn't help by smile at shots of the Queen grinning at Google's headquarters.
