Oracle has released 30 patches as part of its quarterly security update, with 10 fixing flaws in its database server product.

"Due to the threat posed by a successful attack, Oracle strongly recommends that customers apply fixes as soon as possible," the company said.

The patches also affect Oracle's Application Server, Secure Backup, Identity Management, E-Business Suite, Enterprise Manager, WebLogic Server and JRockit as well as PeopleSoft and Siebel tools.

Two flaws in Oracle's Secure Backup earned 9.0 and 10.0 scores on the CVSS risk rating, which is out of 10. The JRockit flaw also scored a 10.

The patches come on the same day Microsoft released six patches for its own products.

The next planned Oracle patch will be on 13 October.
