Lenovo has announced the ThinkCentre A70z, its first all-in-one machine aimed at businesses.

While all-in-one machines have traditionally been the preserve of consumer desktops, Lenovo is looking to bring the advantages of smaller, sleeker machines to business users.

In a video to promote the desktop Lenovo, Dilip Bhatia, executive director of Lenovo's desktop team, said that while laptops have been attracting more attention over the last year or so desktops had been undergoing a "quiet transformation".

"We're seeing brand new sizes, shapes and styles making up entirely new categories," he said.

Bhatia claimed that A70z would help businesses recover up to 50 per cent of their desktop space back and could be mounted against a wall or placed on a stand. Its built-in handle makes for easy transportation.

The A70z sports a 19in, 16:10 aspect ratio display, in a frame that's 2.4in thick. It will be powered by a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and Lenovo promises speedy boot times from the Windows 7 system.

It also features an integrated DVD burner, six USB ports and a built-in web cam.

Green credentials are provided by it meeting Energy Star 5.0 approval and it will be offered with a variety of warranty and support options.

The A70z be available at the end of November from 355 ex. VAT, through Lenovo's channel partners.
