Virgin Media doubles mobile broadband speed

Mobile broadband

Virgin Media has launched a new mobile broadband offering, claiming to give a high-speed connection to its users.

The new USB modem will offer 7.2Mbps, double the speed of its previous model, on a range of contracts.

Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile at Virgin Media, said in a statement: "We're thrilled to be offering this faster mobile broadband to our users. If you're not at home or near a wireless connection, mobile broadband is the best way of staying connected on the move."

Customers have the options of a one month rolling contract or a full 18 months with a choice of either 1GB or 3GB data limits per month.

Monthly payments range from 10 to 15 with the USB modem costing either 24.99 on the 1GB rolling contract or 49.99 with all other options.

The new tariffs and speeds are available immediately.
