Tucci: PC market to go mobile
The PC market will 'blur' with the mobile industry according to EMC's chief executive.
Smartphones and laptops are set to merge into a single device, according to the head of EMC - who also revealed he's a bit of an Apple fan.
"The concept of personal computer is changing [and] obviously the world is going mobile," he said.
Instead, Tucci believes the future is about provisioning for multiple devices centrally and letting consumers chose which device they want to use to access the information from the cloud.
Pointing out the many people in the room with laptops and smartphones out and next to each other, Tucci said that one day those devices will merge.
"Device flexibility, that's what I predict," he said.
He concluded with his own bit of favoritism, saying: "I think the PC industry will morph and I think you see that the best at Apple, or the fastest at Apple."
