Microsoft launches mission critical support

Software vendor Microsoft has introduced a Premier Mission Critical Support add-on for enterprise customers requiring instant, personalised support for their most critical operations.

The new service comes as a bespoke add-on to Microsoft's existing Premier Support plan, and provides customers with a dedicated Microsoft Solution Engineer permanently on-call to provide instant support and expertise.

"It goes without saying that mission-critical solutions require higher levels of attention, given their potential to stop business in its tracks if an outage or other incident occurs," Microsoft Service chief technical officer Norm Judah said.

"Through a comprehensive set of services and support offerings, Microsoft Services is helping our customers identify and implement the right mission-critical technologies for their businesses, with the assurance that a staff of experts is on hand to support the customers' most important applications."

As such, the service has no off-the-shelf price. As part of the service, a dedicated team will conduct an assessment of customers' systems configuration and requirements, before tailoring a personalised package designed for their needs.

Microsoft guarantees a response within 30 minutes, with issues requiring attention from its product development teams given highest priority.

The package is available on a per-solution basis across a range of mission-critical Microsoft products, including .NET Framework, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server.
