Orange introduces Pocket Landline for SMBs

Orange hopes its new offering will enable SMBs to be contactable wherever their workers are.

Mobiles

Orange has launched new deals aimed at small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), allowing them to route calls made to a landline through to worker mobiles.

The Pocket Landline deals have been set up to ensure SMBs never miss customer calls, Orange said.

Even when calls to mobiles are missed, voicemails and emails can be stored as MP3 files to be listened to at a more convenient time.

Orange has made four different packages available, with a starting price of 15 per month.

The lowest-price offering allows one Pocket Landline number to be routed to the user's existing Orange business mobile.

Another option allows the customer to have numerous landlines linked to one mobile, at a cost of 15 per landline number.

Companies happy to pay out 30 a month get to have one landline rerouted to as many as 10 mobiles.

"With Pocket Landline, businesses will never have to miss another call from customers just because they're on the move," said Martin Lyne, SME marketing director at Everything Everywhere.

"The fixed number could help increase credibility and local presence, while the easily scalable packages mean that your Pocket Landline service can expand with the business."

A Gartner report has indicated telecoms equipment will be an area of decent growth in 2011, with an expected spending rise of 9.1 per cent.

Overall, IT spending will increase by 5.1 per cent this year, according to Gartner.
