McAfee updates cloud security platform
Adds identity management, loss prevention, secure email gateway modules.

McAfee has released new modules to enhance its cloud security platform.
Designed to secure email, web and authentication traffic, the updates to the modular product include improved integration with the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator platform.
Marc Olesen, McAfee content and cloud security senior vice president and general manager said that businesses frequently cite potential data loss as the main barrier to adoption.
"We are developing and investing in technology that makes it possible for businesses to more confidently use and trust the cloud," he stated.

And McAfee SaaS Email Protection has added file fingerprinting.
The Services Gateway module now supports IBM Message Queue (MQ) and Splunk search for reporting, while also expanding security for Representational State Transfer (REST) web services with new policy controls, support for Salesforce.com application programming interfaces (APIs) and SAML for identity processing. It also now integrates into ePolicy Orchestrator platform to provide monitoring and security event visibility for web services and data loss prevention dictionary administration.
The Web Gateway module, version 7.1.6, now integrates with the McAfee AppPrism database of over 1,000 web applications to enforce corporate web usage policies for increased security.
The platform, which was first launched in May, can be deployed as an on-premise appliance, software-as-a-service (SaaS) or a hybrid combination.
