Google Nexus 4 smartphone specs and pricing revealed
Device to pack a meaty 1.5GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor and 4.7in display.
Carphone Warehouse has revealed the specifications and pricing for the forthcoming Nexus smartphone ahead of its official unveiling.
As expected, the Nexus 4 is manufactured by LG and will feature a 4.7in screen with a 1280 x 768 resolution and pixel density of 320ppi.
The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz quad-core processor, which will be paired with 2GB of RAM. The device will offer 8GB of on-board storage, but there will be no memory expansion slot available.
Other key features include an 8-megapixel rear camera and NFC connectivity.
Being a Nexus branded device, the handset will ship with the latest version of Android - in this case Jelly Bean 4.2.
The Nexus 4 will be available for free from 31 per month on a 24-month contract however, this deal does not appear to include any minutes. The cheapest deal with data allowance starts at 33 per month. This includes 600 minutes, 500MB of data and unlimited texts.
Carphone Warehouse is taking pre-orders now, and notes that shipping will start on 30 October.
Nexus devices have generally proved popular with developers as they ship with stock Android and receive over-the-air software updates directly from Google.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Nexus 4 will be a hit with business users, especially as LG has previously struggled to make much of a mark in the smartphone market.
