UK hospitality and retail group Carluccio's has selected managed services provider Hyve in a bid to boost its online presence and offer a range of digital services to its customers.

The company, which has nearly 100 restaurants in the UK, underwent a full digital review, with a particular focus on the technical improvements it could make to its website.

It wanted to enable customers to book a table online, as well as offering an online shop where it could sell a range of products including food and drinks.

Jon Taylor, head of IT at Carluccio's, explained that the company wanted to find a hosting partner to take the burden away from his team.

"We have a small internal IT department, so we need to focus on strategic issues we don't have the time to do traditional maintenance and monitoring," he said.

After a tender process, Carluccio's selected Hyve to host its website and also manage its online ecommerce and website security.

Hyve said that it provides a 24/7 support service to the retail company, with dedicated technical account managers available to Carluccio's IT team.

Taylor said that this is where a managed service approach "really delivers".

"I don't have to worry about Hyve's areas of responsibility, in fact, much of the time, I don't even have to think about it," he said.

"That's absolutely ideal for me and my team who can focus on our major products which are driving the business forward," he added.
