The US Army has selected Palantir to implement its intelligence data fabric and analytics solution for the Capability Drop 2 (CD-2) program.

CD-2 is one of several initiatives Palantir and program executive officer (PEO) for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S) are undertaking to modernize the Army's intelligence systems, alongside Capability Drop 1 (CD-1) and Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN).

According to reports, Palantir will deploy its Gotham Platform for rapid defense decision-makingto support Army Intelligence users worldwide. Connecting disparate data sources, Gotham offers a federated intelligence data fabric and analytics solution that spans multiple levels of security

Leveraging Gotham’s capabilities, the Army Intelligence community will migrate legacy programs to CD-2, strengthening its data foundation. CD-2 will also assist the Army with future modernization efforts supporting Joint All Domain Operations.

Additionally, Palantir’s data integration, correlation, fusion, and analytic capabilities will aid the Army’s strategies to combat near-peer threat actors.

“We look forward to the continued partnership with PEO IEW&S and the Army’s Intelligence Community in providing new and exciting technology that help them in their modernization efforts,” said Doug Philippone, global defense lead at Palantir.

Palantir has advanced to the next step in the Army’s competitive $823 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract. In a "Test, Fix, Test" process, the firm will oversee the final testing and fielding of the Army's intelligence system.

Earlier this year, Palantir signed a pact with the United States Space Force (USSF) and United States Air Force (USAF) to support the country's armed forces.
