Exabeam has announced a new vice president for its EMEA division, following a successful period that has seen the SIEM firm achieve record growth in the region.

Charlie Howe joins Exabeam from Microsoft-acquired Skyhigh Networks and brings over 20 years’ worth of IT industry knowledge to the business, as well as a wealth of experience in establishing and scaling security start-ups within EMEA.

Howe arrives off the back of an extended period of success in the region for Exabeam, which has seen the firm win a number of deals over major competitor Splunk - a feat the company hopes will help it deliver on becoming the dominant SIEM market force.

The business is also on track to more than double its market growth in 2018, it says, following 250% growth in 2017 and 300% in 2016 – with two of the top five banks, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies and a number of the biggest insurance and healthcare organisations now forming part of its client base.

Exabeam’s Security Management Platform also received industry recognition in the form of the 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice award and an SC Awards Europe 2018 gong for Best SIEM.

“The complexities in securing modern digital businesses, along with the increase in sophistication of malicious threats and cybercrime, are fueling growth of the SIEM market,” said Nir Polak, CEO at Exabeam. “With our Security Management Platform, Exabeam is delivering on the original promise of SIEM. Based on our success in North America, and given the size of the EMEA market for SIEM, we are rapidly growing our presence in Europe and the Middle East.”

This expansion has already seen Exabeam add a new Benelux team to its existing offices in the UK and Germany this year, following an earlier distribution expansion to the Middle East. In 2019, the firm says its strategy includes doubling its team in Germany and expanding to the Nordic region.

“We’re also looking into possibilities in Southern Europe (Spain, France, Italy) as well as investigating the Middle East and North Africa – a very strong market for SIEM which has a potential TAM of $45m in 2019,” Polak added.
