Accenture has announced the acquisition of cloud and digital transformation consultancy Infinity Works, as the professional services firm moves to expand its cloud delivery and engineering capabilities.

The takeover becomes Accenture’s second in the space of a week, following the acquisition of independent SAP partner Edenhouse. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Leeds-based Infinity Works specialises in helping organisations with their digital transformation, offering a range of value-adding services that include cloud, data, design and research, mobile, as well as full-stack engineering.

Accenture said the addition marks a “significant step” in advancing its Accenture Cloud First strategy and capabilities in the UK.

Accenture Cloud First is a new multi-service group of 70,000 cloud professionals that aims to help businesses accelerate their digital transformation. The company has also recently announced a $3 billion investment over three years, as it looks to rapidly expand its cloud service capabilities and offerings.

“The Infinity Works team brings deep cloud and engineering specialisation and increases our ability to leverage cloud-native architectures, applications and methods to help clients innovate and operate with speed and flexibility at scale,” commented Karthik Narain, global lead of Accenture Cloud First.

Founded back in 2014, Infinity works has a staff base of around 440 people, including software engineers, data engineers, cloud architects, and cloud certified specialists. Headquartered in Leeds, the company has offices across the UK – including Manchester, Edinburgh and London.

The business has built deep relationships with some of the key ecosystem players, including AWS, with which it is a recognised Advanced Consulting Partner in the AWS Partner Network.

“Ever since Infinity Works was founded, we have used cloud-first approaches to help our customers migrate to the cloud and enable them to digitally transform at scale and speed,” commented Paul Henshaw, co-founder at Infinity Works.

“Accenture’s resources and capabilities will enable us to better support our customers’ digital projects while providing them with the same exceptional levels of service they’ve come to expect.”

The move follows hot on the heels of Accenture’s acquisition of UK-based independent SAP partner Edenhouse earlier this week, which it says will scale its capabilities in the UK to address accelerated demand for SAP’s cloud-based solutions.

“By teaming with Edenhouse we will broaden the depth of our SAP capabilities to serve our large and mid-sized clients on their next phase of growth and transformation, and cement our leadership position in the UK market,” said Mukul Dixit, Accenture’s SAP Business Group Lead for the UK and Ireland.
