Air IT snaps up MFG UK and Infinity IT Solutions

Shaking hands

Managed communications provider and broadband ISP Air IT has announced the acquisitions of Reading-based MFG UK and the Uttoxeter-headquartered Infinity IT Solutions.

The addition of the two MSPs takes Air IT’s head count to 270 staff - with more than 200 of those in service-led roles - while the company also now has nine offices across the UK.

Air IT said that the pair’s technology-driven and service-led approach, combined with strong customer service, were big factors in bringing them into the group.

“We are thrilled to have found two more outstanding teams to join the Air IT Group, which has allowed us to further expand our footprint and introduce skilful, like-minded colleagues to the team,” said John Whitty, CEO of Air IT.

“Both MFG and Infinity are very similar to us in terms of their service maturity, product set, client type and, most importantly, culture – we are confident that they will be a great fit for Air IT and look forward to the contribution we know they will add.”

Since October 2020, Air IT has now made eight acquisitions as it continues to expand across the country. In addition to its headquarters in Nottingham, the group now has offices in Birmingham, London, Coventry, Oxford, Kent, Northwich, and now Reading and Uttoxeter.

“Our aim is to be the go-to MSP and MSSP for SMEs across the UK, delivering local service on a national scale, and welcoming exceptional talent to the Group will help us achieve this,” Whitty added.

Established in Reading in 2008, MFG focuses on providing a professional, customer-focused approach to managed IT, cyber security and communications solutions across the Thames Valley.

“Joining with the Air IT Group helps us in several ways,” commented MFG managing director Mark Flinders. “Our management team can grow further, our people will have more support and opportunities to extend their skills and experience, and our clients will benefit from the ever-growing services and technologies that form part of the new digital way of working.

Founded in Staffordshire in 2009, Infinity IT Solutions helps provide clients with IT support and maintenance, working across all industry sectors. The firm is shortlisted, alongside new parent company Air IT, for MSP of the Year at the Comms Business Awards 2021.

“Our range of IT, security and communications solutions is very similar to those delivered by Air IT and we can now further expand these services with a deeper level of experience,” said Simon McAlpine, Infinity’s chief commercial officer.
