The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has chosen Interoute as its preferred hosting and managed service provider, helping it transform its digital services and implement DDoS protection and better IT security across the board.

Interoute will also offer its security consultancy services to help IATA maintain its critical applications and systems providing settlement services for airlines across the globe.

The service provider will implement its Virtual Data Centre (VDC) to help IATA keep its systems online in the 53 countries it operates in.

“As an international organisation running highly critical applications for the aviation industry, we are excited to have found in Interoute a global cloud provider who can support our broad set of Information Communications Technology (ICT) needs in Europe," Pascal Buchner, CIO at IATA said. "Interoute’s infrastructure brings us the scale and reach vital for us to provide a best in class service to airlines.”

Interoute's services will be hosted in its Geneva and Zurich VDC zones, which are the closest territories to IATA's head office.

“Interoute VDC offers a global cloud of integrated network and compute resources, across 17 Interoute VDC zones in Europe, North America and Asia," Matthew Finnie, CTO at Interoute, added.

"Its scalable computing capability delivered globally, combined with its ability to restrict data and applications to specific geographies is exactly the environment IATA required. We are delighted to bring them on board and act as a true partner, driving value and innovation for IATA and the airlines it serves.”
