Consenna unveils new secure HP trade-in programme
The GDPR-compliant scheme will help SMBs contribute to the circular economy

IT business consultancy firm Consenna has announced a new trade-in programme on behalf of HP, designed to encourage SMB owners to upgrade their IT equipment in a “responsible and sustainable” manner.
The Secure Trade-In by HP scheme, which is GDPR compliant, leverages a network of 175 HP resellers to provide SMBs a platform on which they can upgrade to a qualifying HP machine and receive cashback on their old devices.
IT disposal expert Re-Tek has been drafted in to manage the process of kit collection, tracked transportation to secure location, CESG-compliant data wiping, as well as all aspects of reporting, Consenna said.
“For secure business owners looking to upgrade their IT equipment, there can be a myriad of concerns from cost through to data security,” commented Trevor Evans, managing director at Consenna.
“What Secure Trade-In by HP provides to those business owners is not only the reassurance of total security and compliance at every stage of the process, as well as the incentive of cash-back on qualifying purchases of new equipment, but importantly it allows them to make a meaningful contribution to the circular economy through minimising waste.”
In addition to devising the new programme, the Consenna said it will deliver all aspects of it, including training to the reseller network and management of its trade-in administration portal.
The business consultancy firm specialises delivering programmes to drive sales and marketing for global tech customers and boasts a customer portfolio that includes the likes of Lenovo, Microsoft, Kodak and BT.
“The Consenna team has a comprehensive appreciation of what a trade-in programme of this nature requires,” commented Michael Pope, HP’s UK Commercial Notebook Category manager.
“From supporting HP’s own commitments to sustainability, through to empowering our network of resellers who are at the coalface of working with small and medium-sized business owners, and on to creating messages that engage those business owners, they have created a vehicle through which I don’t doubt we’ll witness a greater appreciation of how redundant IT equipment can be successfully saved from the technology scrapheap.”
