Deloitte has announced the launch of its first dedicated Google practice in the UK, which has been designed to inform, support, and enhance clients’ digital transformation programmes.

The global business consultancy specialist says the practice will apply Google Cloud technologies, Google Workspace and marketing tools to help drive growth and innovation.

The move marks the firm’s first large-scale external recruitment that focuses solely on Google in the country, with the team expected to grow to more than 300 people by 2024.

“Launching a dedicated practice to support organisations rolling-out Google technologies will provide our clients with a team of industry experts that have extensive experience in ensuring these tools are used to directly assist digital transformation objectives,” explained Matt Lacey, partner and leader of Deloitte’s Google alliance across the UK and EMEA.

“Ultimately, we want to ensure that businesses are using Google technologies in a way that will boost innovation and productivity, drive business growth, improve sustainability and enhance the experience of their customers and workforces across the UK.”

Deloitte says its new Google business works to support clients across every industry – including retail, the public sector, financial services, consumer packaged goods, telecommunications, and media.

Currently, the practice is working on focusing on a range of projects, which include multi-year transformations, developing sustainability initiatives, democratising online services, as well as building AI solutions.

Already Google Cloud’s number one partner for the last four years, Deloitte added it will also continue to support organisations to scale cloud technologies.

“Building a new Google practice within the firm will provide businesses across the UK with the support and expertise necessary to extend their capabilities across our solutions,” said Simon Aldous, UKI channel sales director for Google Cloud. “Deloitte's expertise coupled with Google Cloud technologies will act as a launchpad for innovation.”

Anne-Marie Malley, Deloitte’s managing partner for Consulting, added: “Launching a dedicated Google practice will ensure that Deloitte’s knowledge of Google technologies is market-leading, providing our clients with new ways to innovate and galvanise their businesses for the long-term.”
