Software-enabled services provider Lemongrass has formed a multi-year strategic partnership with Microsoft designed to help large and midmarket enterprises modernise and simplify their SAP environments.

Building on the pair’s existing partnership, the agreement will focus on the co-development of SAP-centric services that take advantage of the capabilities of Microsoft Cloud and help maximise the value of customers’ SAP investments.

Microsoft said it’ll act as a distinctive innovation partner, providing Lemongrass with the opportunity to collaborate with the tech giant on design and engineering initiatives for SAP customers.

Lemongrass will also scale its Lemongrass Cloud Platform to be fully integrated with Microsoft Cloud globally – a move it says will help SAP customers benefit from the power and flexibility of Microsoft’s platform, as well as its own services and automation.

Microsoft and Lemongrass teams will also work closely on product enhancements, the pair said.

“We are delighted to have Lemongrass as a Strategic Partner,” said Joao Couto, Commercial Partner Lead, Microsoft. “Our shared goal is to simplify the process of running SAP systems for customers, from migration through long-term support.

“Having gotten to know Lemongrass well through the partnership development process, we are confident they are the right choice to invest in and work with to grow our SAP on Microsoft business.”

Lemongrass specialises in working with SAP in the hyperscale cloud, from planning and migration to operation and automation. With 6,000 SAP servers and 300,000 SAP users under its management, the firm helps customers extract value by moving and running their SAP systems in the cloud.

Lemongrass has also earned the SAP on Azure Advanced Specialization competency, adding to its existing certifications in the SAP PartnerEdge program – which include the SAP certification in OS/DB migration for SAP NetWeaver and SAP certifications in SAP S/4HANA.

The provider’s new strategic partnership with Microsoft builds on its recent acquisition of Wharfedale Technologies, a tech consulting firm that tackles migration and management of SAP on Microsoft Cloud.

“We are very excited about our Strategic Partnership with Microsoft and collaborating with their engineering and sales teams,” said Lemongrass CEO, Mike Rosenbloom.

“Lemongrass and Microsoft have a common vision to drive a superior SAP operating experience and enable the highest level of agility and innovation in a secure, trusted cloud environment.”
