SAP launches Singapore lab to focus on AI
The company is looking to double the number of engineers it hires in the country
SAP today launched a new digital innovation hub, SAP Labs Singapore, which aims to drive product leadership, foster local digital talent, and boost ecosystem and community engagement.
SAP also announced that with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), SAP Labs will employ over 500 digital professionals locally by 2025. This will see its engineering workforce double in the country. The hub is set to be located at SAP’s newly revamped regional headquarters at Pasir Panjang.
The company plans to recruit early digital talent from local universities and institutions of higher learning, with a focus on software engineers and areas including AI, data analytics, cloud, and sustainability.
“SAP’s decision to establish SAP Labs in Singapore reinforces the company’s confidence in our position as a hub for enterprise software product development and innovation,” said Jacqueline Poh, managing director at EDB.
“SAP Labs Singapore will create exciting job opportunities here in areas such as artificial Intelligence and machine learning that will further deepen the skills of our workforce.”
