HCL partners with Red Hat on enterprise app development

The partnership will merge HCL's IT transformation expertise with Red Hat's container tech

HCL and Red Hat have teamed up to help customers speed up the process of building and deploying enterprise applications.

The partnership means developers will be able to use Red Hat's OpenShift container platform to create innovative applications using AI and machine learning, without the burden of managing traditional cloud or on-premise infrastructure, which HCL will do for them.

"In line with our stated Mode 123 strategy, HCL continues to invest in skills and developing partnerships for nextgeneration Mode 2 services, addressing digital business transformation needs for customers with cloud as a key technology platform," said Kalyan Kumar, CTO of HCL Technologies' IT Services division.

"This collaboration positions HCL and Red Hat to play a leadership role in the global application PaaS market. While Red Hat offers awardwinning container application platform technology, HCL will be the global systems integrator for consulting, architecture & designing, integrating, building and running the solutions for enterprises."

The tie-up will also see the two companies jointly develop accelerators to create cloud-native apps in an more autonomous way, making it even faster for business to create valuable applications for their business in a fraction of the time.
