Tech Data has announced a new strategic collaboration agreement with AWS in Europe, which the distribution firm says will help SMBs grow and better serve their customers in the region.

The move will see the pair jointly invest in resources and expertise to help businesses accelerate their digital transformation, as well as offer an enhanced range of AWS cloud computing services to SMBs across the continent.

“This is a ground-breaking and transformative agreement,” commented Patrick Zammit, Tech Data's European president. “AWS and Tech Data’s shared goal is to digitally empower SMBs across the region, helping them grow and innovate faster and better serve their customers.”

As part of the multi-year agreement, Tech Data will create dedicated local AWS sales and technical teams in each of its countries in Europe, which will work in unison with a central team of solutions architects and services experts.

The distributor says it will reinforce its existing AWS offerings with a comprehensive range of professional and managed services and multi-vendor solutions that has the Amazon cloud subsidiary at its core. The firm’s own StreamOne platform will also play a central role in enabling businesses to bring solutions to market quickly and efficiently.

Additionally, Tech Data is to implement AWS-specific enablement paths – which will include business maturity assessment, training, and solution development – to help partners quickly accelerate their AWS cloud practices.

“Our collaboration enables end-customers to realise the benefits of AWS, including improved security, cost-efficiency, reliability, innovation, and accelerated time-to-market thanks to pre-packaged solutions provided by the Tech Data Cloud Solutions Factory for AWS,” Zammit added.

The collaboration is already active in the UK, Italy, Turkey, and Spain, and will roll out across the rest of Tech Data’s European footprint in the coming quarters.

“We are delighted to be working with Tech Data to enable channel partners across Europe to support the business and digital transformation needs of SMBs,” said Amanda Sleight, SI Partner Lead at AWS. “This collaboration brings together AWS’s cloud services and Tech Data’s network so that SMBs can focus on innovation, drive business growth, and remain competitive in today’s digital economy.”
