Infinigate Group has acquired UK cloud distributor and Microsoft Indirect Provider Vuzion in a move it says will enable the company to ensure a “more comprehensive security posture” for end customers.

The distributor becomes the company’s second acquisition on UK shores in recent months, following its takeover of Nuvias back in July.

Based in Fareham, Hampshire, Vuzion serves more than 600 resellers and one million cloud users and was the first Microsoft UK provider to cover a full spectrum of offerings across the cloud partner ecosystem.

Infinigate says the acquisition will enable it to channel Vuzion’s experience in helping both vendors and partners adapt as cybersecurity start-ups increasingly turn to a fully-subscription-based model,

“Our acquisition of Vuzion is a strategic move that we’ve taken because cybersecurity and cloud are a natural fit,” explained Klaus Schlichtherle, Infinigate CEO. “It enables us to ensure a more comprehensive security posture for the end customers, especially in the SMB space.”

The move will make Infinigate the only Value-Added Distributor that will provide resellers with the expertise to transition customers to comprehensive and secure cloud solutions, he said.

“The acquisition will accelerate digital transformation both for Infinigate and for those we serve and combined with our key recruitment and investments, it enables us to re-invent VAD for a digital world,” Schlichtherle added.

“In the coming quarter, we will be investing in the core Vuzion business in the UK and will develop a joint approach across EMEA to secure the cloud and leverage Vuzion expertise and experience,”

Emerging from Cobweb Solutions in 2016, Vuzion delivers hand-picked cloud solutions with a core focus on marketing and technical abilities. Over the last three years, the company has registered strong organic year-on-year growth of more than 30% each year and boasts a rapidly expanding customer base.

As part of its acquisition, Vuzion managing director Michael Frisby will join Infinigate as SVP of cloud services, while around 43 Vuzion staff members will also join the firm.

Commenting on the move, Frisby said the companies’ shared people-focused approach and common values will provide a strong foundation going forward.

“Joining forces allows us to provide more expertise and services, which help our mutual partners accelerate their growth and secure their customers’ journey to the cloud,” he said. “This acquisition generates new employment opportunities as we continue to grow our teams, in the UK, Ireland and in Europe.”
