Red Hat expands automation capabilities for hybrid clouds

Red Hat’s Advanced Cluster Management and Ansible Automation Platform will work hand-in-hand to stir automation in hybrid cloud environments

Red Hat has announced the integration of two of its industry-leading platforms, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

With this fusion, Red Hat intends to propel holistic automation across open hybrid clouds by connecting traditional and hybrid cloud environments with modern automation tools.

“By integrating Red Hat OpenShift with Ansible Automation Platform, enterprises can leverage Ansible for infrastructure management and application deployment,” said Joe Fitzgerald, vice president, management at Red Hat.

“We believe Ansible has become a de facto automation standard, and Red Hat provides a tremendous amount of ready-to-use Ansible automation that spans domains and is curated, certified and supported.”

Red Hat has also announced several upgrades to its Ansible Automation Platform with the inclusion of new Red Hat Certified Ansible Content Collections for OpenShift, Kubernetes Core and VMware vSphere REST API, automation services catalog and Private Automation Hub.

Ansible Content Collections bring structure to automation content by categorizing content collections based on available automation domains. The Ansible Automation Hub offers easy access to certified Ansible content for customers maintained by Red Hat and its partners. The Private Automation Hub streamlines Ansible code further by allowing enterprise content creators to collaborate and publish trusted resources from a central location.

Red Hat will release the newest version of the platform in November. All Collections delivered in Ansible Automation Hub have been tested against enterprise-class production environments for efficiency and are certified by the Ansible partner network.

The connector technology in the automation services catalog that enables organizations to maintain business-specific controls and compliance mechanisms will also be available for technology preview next month.
