Met Police chooses New Signature for cloud implementation

The Metropolitan Police (Met) has chosen to implement Microsoft Cloud with partner New Signature to modernise its infrastructure.

It's one of G-Cloud’s biggest procurements and will help the Met offer new services and capabilities as it moves to cloud-based services.

Systems integrator New Signature has put in place Microsoft Azure to take over from the Met’s legacy infrastructure, using the cloud to power existing and new apps and services.

The two organisations worked closely together to choose the right platform that could not only boost the speed and efficiency of application deployment, but also one that offers the security the UK’s largest police force demands.

“We are very pleased to have selected New Signature to help us as we start to develop and implement our “Cloud First Strategy” transition,” Angus McCallum, chief information office at Metropolitan Police said. “As a Gold certified Microsoft Partner ‘born in the cloud’ they bring significant expertise and impressive experience of supporting other organisations on the journey to the Cloud.

“The Met is committed to ensuring all of our people have the right technology to do their jobs with excellence and New Signature’s involvement is a critical part of building our capability and achieving fast results.”

New Signature has also implemented a new network operations centre that will oversee the security aspect of the partnership, ensuring it meets regulations.

“We are incredibly proud to have been selected to partner with The Met Police and make their digital vision a reality,” New Signature UK founder, Dan Scarfe added.

“Being able to help them on that journey, over larger systems integrators and previous providers, is a watershed moment. Like many other organisations, they have recognised the benefit of working with a cloud specialist to unlock new opportunities and create an agile, future-proof technology environment.”
