Palantir deepens partnership with the US Space Force

Palantir’s DaaS will help improve operational readiness at the US Space and Missile Systems Center

Palantir Technologies has signed a new pact with the United States Space Force (USSF) and United States Air Force (USAF) to support the country's armed forces.

In 2020, Palantir partnered with the USSF to develop a common operating picture of space for the US Space Command.

Under the new agreement, Palantir will deploy and maintain its data-as-a-service platform to aid the US Space and Missile Systems Centers' (SMC) Cross-mission Ground and Communications Enterprise (ECX) in space command and control programs, including operations at the National Space Defense Center and the Combined Space Operations Center.

Project Brown Heron, a US Air Force initiative, will use Palantir to integrate disparate data sources. Through this development, the Department of the Air Force (DAF) aims to increase readiness across its organizational and functional silos. Palantir's software will also provide the Air Force's top management with a continuously evolving operational readiness analytics platform.

"Mastering the data environment is more critical now than ever and it's only growing more important," said General David Allvin, Air Force's vice chief of staff.

"Tomorrow's wars will be won – or lost – based on our ability to dominate future decision cycles and that all starts with data. Project Brown Heron represents a significant leap forward for the Department as we transform how we create, fuse, and leverage our growing mountains of data to create true decision superiority and win against peer competitors in the digital age."

Additionally, Palantir will assist NORAD-NORTHCOM in its Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) mission by assimilating critical data from across functional and geographic domains to support comprehensive operational planning and execution.

"I'm excited about this partnership and the work we are doing to provide better data-driven decision making to our leadership. Palantir's technology and framework has truly accelerated our ability to remove data stovepipes throughout the community and create actionable knowledge," stated Col. Jennifer Krolikowski, the senior materiel leader for Space C2 at the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.
