Dolby launches Voice Room video conferencing solution

The phone, video and audio bundle is simple to setup and manage

Dolby has unveiled its Dolby Voice Room video conferencing solution, designed to equip smaller conference spaces and 'huddle rooms' with a premium audio visual set up.

The bundle comprises the Dolby Conference Phone as the central controller, providing Dolby's signature high-fidelity audio, supported by the the Dolby Voice Camera and Dolby Voice Hub to boost sound and video standards.

"To make collaboration experiences better, we needed to make the technology work harder for users," said Andrew Border, vice president of Dolby's communications business group.

"Leveraging our expertise in the fields of human perception, machine learning, engineering, and design,Dolby Voice Roomwas built with the ability to flex to human needs in a way that is simple to use by participants and IT while also delivering a dramatically better experience."

Dolby added it wanted to create a video conferencing solution that addresses many of the bugbears experienced in smaller conference rooms and huddle spaces - shadowy visuals, hard to hear conversation, distracting background noise and only a partial view of the room, meaning some participants can't be seen.

It explained its combination of tools is easy to set up, manage and use on an everyday basis that is totally flexible for the conference space.

"As huddle-room collaboration grows exponentially, businesses are demandinga solution that is simple to manage while providing a compelling experience to end users," said Roopam Jain, industry director at analyst firm Frost & Sullivan.

"Dolby is well positioned to capitalize on this opportunity through its expertise in delivering spectacular audio-visual experiences across the cinema, the home, on the go, and now on the job."
