Microsoft has revealed that its new flagship Microsoft Store in London will open its doors to the public on 11 July, located on the capital's Oxford Circus.

Covering 21,932 square feet over three floors, the Redmond giant's first physical UK store will provide an interactive space in which the public can test and experience the latest technology. Such product from the Surface, Windows, Office, Xbox and PC gaming divisions, as well as HoloLens mixed-reality.

"A flagship store in London has long been part of our vision for our physical and digital store presence," said Microsoft Store's David Porter. "This opening represents another step in our journey to meet our customers from consumers to businesses wherever they are and deepen our connection with them."

As well as interactive zones and video walls, the store will also include an answer desk to provide customers with tech support, training, repairs and advice from advisors, regardless of where devices were purchased, their brand or their operating system.

The hub will also feature a Community Theatre which will provide a space for tech, coding and STEM learning through free, year-round workshops and programmes.

"This will be more than just a store. Customers will have the chance to explore and get hands-on with technology," commented John Carter, newly-appointed manager of the London Microsoft Store. "We've got a passionate group of store associates ready to bring the experience of tech alive for customers.

"Unique to any job in retail, there will be many ways for us to give back to our communities, help them build connections and grow."

The new flagship store joins the tech firm's existing list of facilities in the UK, which includes three gaming studios, the Reactor London startup hub, as well as the global centre of excellence for the development of AI at the Microsoft Research Lab in Cambridge.

Other Microsoft Store locations around the world include flagships in New York and Sydney, as well as a number of locations across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
