Dell unveils new Latitude and Precision devices
Latitude 9330 laptop boasts world’s first collaboration touchpad, while new Precision devices place greater focus on power and performance
Dell has announced the arrival of new Latitude and Precision commercial laptops, which have been designed with a fresh focus on collaboration and performance.
These latest iterations have been “reimagined” to better cater to the needs of today’s workforce and hybrid working needs, the company said.
Available from June 2022, the Latitude flagship line welcomes the new 9330 model, while the Precision range receives new 7670, 77770, and 5470 Anniversary Edition offerings.
Designed with mobility in mind, the new Latitude 9330 packs key collaboration, connectivity, and privacy features into its 2-in-1 form factor. It’s the first 13-inch laptop in the 9000 series, features a QHD+ 16:10 InfinityEdge display, and is also the thinnest Latitude model at just 8.3mm.
With video calls and remote collaboration playing such a key role in the modern workforce, the 9330 is also the first laptop to sport a collaboration touchpad, which Dell says offers speedy access to microphone mute/unmute, video on/off, screen share, and chat in Zoom meetings.
“With the collaboration touchpad, you have all these controls at your fingertips and once the meeting ends, the icons disappear (no longer enabled), and the full trackpad is restored,” the firm explained in a release. “Plus, with our FHD camera with separate RGB and IR cameras, and neural-noise cancellation, you can be your best on every meeting.”
Combined with Dell’s Optimizer AI software suite and SafeShutter feature, the Latitude 9330 also aims to help mitigate privacy risks, with the device able to conceal on-screen information when an onlooker is detected and dims the screen when the user looks away.
Additionally, the 9330 features 12th Gen Intel Core processors and the latest connectivity options, including Intel Wi-Fi 6E and 4G LTE or 5G.
With its Precision laptops, Intel has unveiled a new cobalt-coloured 5470 Anniversary Edition to mark the 25th anniversary of the line’s inception, as well as new 7670 and 7770 iterations.
With a focus on power and performance, these 16- and 17-inch devices offer 12th Gen Intel Core processors up to i9, with 55W coming soon. In terms of graphics, Dell is offering up to NVIDIA RTX A5500 graphics and up to 128GB of DDR5 memory. The Precision additions also feature Dell Optimizer to help optimize application performance and boost privacy.
