ITI's directory of safe tech tools helps businesses during the coronavirus pandemic

No need to worry about scammers or opportunistic rip-off artists here

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has teamed up with the Information Technology Industry Council to create a directory of tech tools and resources to help individuals and organizations cope with the spread of COVID-19.

Available on the ITI website, the guide is divided into resources geared toward educators, businesses and government entities. According to ITI, the site will be updated regularly as the spread of the virus progresses.

“As the world grapples with COVID-19, the tech industry is committed to playing a constructive role in responding to and helping to mitigate the spread of the virus,” ITI said.

“From free platforms that can help teachers connect with students to guidance on how to optimize managing a team of employees remotely, technology companies are making tools and resources available to communities, educators, employers, and governments across the world that will help as we face challenges associated with COVID-19.”

The guide is tailored to an array of organizations, including education, business, and government and community partners. Each section within the guide lists a myriad of tools and resources that educators and businesses alike should find helpful during this difficult time.

Each section also includes best practices as they relate to sharing information and using teleconference platforms like Zoom

Also included in the guide is a comprehensive list of regularly updated blogs, news and other resources related to ITI member companies and their own responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ITI isn’t the only organization teaming up with the US government to address the spread of COVID-19. Apple recently released its COVID-19 screening tool, though senators have questions Apple over privacy concerns. Other companies, such as Google, have also made moves to provide individuals and businesses with the tools they need to remain efficient and productive throughout the pandemic.

Now more than ever, the tech industry continues to work together, ensuring businesses, communities and individuals have the tools, information and resources they need to cope with this crisis.
