8x8 partners with Jabra to bolster work-from-anywhere capabilities

New headphone integration ensures clear calls and better functionality

8x8 has announced a partnership with Jabra that includes the expansion of equipment offerings to include the Jabra BIZ, Engage, Evolve, and UC VOICE mono and stereo headsets.

This move comes in response to the dramatic increase in the use of 8x8’s desktop and mobile apps as companies move to work-from-home environments during the coronavirus pandemic. 

By combining 8x8’s call quality and reliability with Jabra’s leading headsets, this partnership ensures employees have the communication tools they need to stay productive no matter where they’re working. 

As of now, 32 models across the Jabra BIZ, Engage, Evolve and UC VOICE headset families can be used in conjunction with 8x8 X Series, 8x8 Video Meetings and the 8x8 Contact Center.

“8x8 is dedicated to providing companies with the communication capabilities they need to remain productive regardless of location or device. As businesses and organisations shift to mobile and remote working, it becomes even more paramount employees and contact centre agents can communicate clearly with colleagues, partners and customers,” said Dejan Deklich, chief product officer at 8x8, Inc.

“The partnership with Jabra expands the choice companies have with 8x8 to ensure their teams can be productive and effective while working from anywhere.”

As a result of this integration, joint customers will also enjoy a seamless experience when making and receiving calls using the 8x8 Virtual Office Desktop or mobile app and a Jabra headset. Users will be able to answer, mute and even disconnect 8x8 calls directly from their Jabra headsets.

“Our research has shown that knowledge workers are facing increased disruptions while collaborating,” explained Kelly Nagel, president and GM, Jabra North America.

“It’s paramount that they have the tools to overcome a noisy environment and communicate effectively. Our partnership with 8x8 provides customers with the exceptional call quality they need to stay focused and productive using a Jabra professional headset and 8x8 service plan with a physical phone, softphone or mobile device.”

With 8x8’s monthly active user base growing to more than 14.3 million in the wake of COVID-19, it’s no surprise 8x8 is making big moves like this. Just last week, the company announced its new 8x8 Video MeetingsPro software, taking aim at teleconference competitors, like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
