Vodafone extends 4G roaming to 23 countries

Vodafone has added an extra 19 countries to its 4G roaming network, meaning customers can now use their roaming plans in 23 countries.

The full list of countries covered by Vodafone's 4G network is: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA.

The operator launched its 4G roaming plans last year, with customers able to use the next generation network in Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Vodafone said last year UK travellers made around 42 million visits to countries now covered by Vodafone 4G roaming agreements.

Customers travelling within its "Europe Zone" can use their UK minutes, texts and data for 3 a day using its Vodafone EuroTraveller tariff. While customers travelling to a country within Vodafone's WorldTraveller Zone can take their UK minutes, texts and data with them for 5 a day.

Both Vodafone EuroTraveller and Vodafone WorldTraveller are available to contract and small business customers, regardless of whether they have 4G or not.

Customers will also be automatically opted into a monthly data spending limit of 41.29, with the operator sending free text messages to update customers on how much allowance has been used.

Cindy Rose, Vodafone UK's head of consumer, said: "Our customers now have 4G in more countries than ever before as a result of Vodafone's significant global presence.

"We are really excited to be able to offer our thousands of customers travelling around the world, whether on business or for fun, an even better 4G experience."
