The EU Exit Technology Delivery Lead will report to the Immigration Technology Officer

Brexit

The government is on the search to find a Brexit tech lead to join the Home Office's Croydon Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the right IT systems and processes are put in place to make the UK's exit from the EU as smooth as possible.

They will need to be proven leader and be competent at project delivery, comfortable working with all levels of the government (including staff, peers, senior management and key stakeholders) and managing a large number of staff (there are 3,000 employees at working on the Digital, Data and Technology project. They will report to the Immigration Technology Officer.

Whoever is appointed will be paid-up to 105,000, although the Home Office is happy to take the employee(s) onboard on a full time, job share or part-time - making it a pretty flexible role for the right candidate(s).

A key part of the EU Exit Technology Delivery Lead position will be to help the government move away from third-party contracts and bring many of the service and delivery aspects of the Home Office's digital strategy in-house. The ideal candidate will need to make sure this transition goes without a hitch.

"Within the Home Office, as our large multi-year contracts expire, we are leveraging these opportunities," the job posting explained. "Whilst we still use a very large cross-section of 3rd party partners for various aspects of the systems and services lifecycle, we are letting smaller contracts, and increasingly assuming direct responsibility for service delivery and integration."
