Xerox (NYSE:XRX)-owned reseller IBS has appointed Alan Brown as managing director.

Brown will report to Diego Hervas, president of Xerox’s European Channels Group.

Says Brown: “IBS has a strong brand and a tremendous team of employees. I look forward to working with them to further strengthen the value we bring to customers throughout the island of Ireland.”

IBS has around 18,000 clients across corporate, SME and public sector organisations.

“Alan brings a wealth of leadership and management experience,” says Hervas. “I am sure that under his leadership IBS will go from strength to strength.”

Prior to joining IBS, Brown held a number of senior positions in the telecoms industry, most recently as deputy CEO and business director of Telefónica O2 Ireland.

Brown replaces Jerry Carey who has retired. Carey founded IBS in 1972 and under his leadership it became the largest independent reseller of digital imaging and printing solutions in Ireland. In 2010, IBS was acquired by Xerox and in 2013 merged with the majority of Xerox (Ireland) Ltd to create the current business.
