Box has announced partnerships with some of the world's leading security firms to boost its security offering in the form of Box Trust.

The initiative sees the cloud provider joining forces with Symantec, Splunk, Palo Alto Networks and OpenDNS to provide businesses with peace of mind when it comes to security and the cloud.

Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box said: "The security landscape has undergone a massive transformation as enterprises move their content from legacy, on-premise solutions to the cloud.

"This rapid transition has introduced many benefits, including mobile productivity, simplified collaboration and efficient communication, but also new challenges around managing and securing information in a perimeterless business environment. We're building a security model with a thriving ecosystem of partners to provide all new tools and services that secure content in the enterprise."

Box is also working with other companies such as GE, Toyota, Eli Lilly, Boston Scientific, Procter & Gamble, Chevron, Schneider Electric and Stanford University to build and deliver the security framework for high-security networks.

The introduction of the Box for EMM iOS and Android mobile app will ensure enterprises have the security they require to open up their networks to employees, encouraging collaboration across their mobile ecosystem.

The solution can be integrated with AirWatch by VMware, Dell and MaaS360 by Fiberlink to allow companies who are already using those products to secure their systems to add the app onto their currently mobility infrastructure.

Javvad Malik, senior analyst, enterprise security practice, 451 Research commented: "With people working across devices and networks, businesses will need a comprehensive security strategy to protect their most important information in the age of cloud and mobility.

"Making sense of this new framework can be challenging, so having the right guidance to navigate the required controls and available vendors is becoming invaluable."
