Dixons Retail will be featuring an exclusive security package from computer theft recovery and data protection solutions firm, Absolute Software.

Absolute Software, makers of LoJack for Laptops software, has teamed up with Trend Micro to provide Dixons Retail with the exclusive package, hoping to take advantage of the increased footfall over the Easter period, the Royal Wedding and the May bank holiday.

The package, Trend Titanium Premium Edition, combines Trend Micro's Titanium Security and Smart Surfing products, with a one-year licence for LoJack for Laptops.

“Dixons customers can now rest assured they have the best possible combination of online and physical security for their IT kit,” said Dave Everitt, general manager (EMEA) at Absolute Software. “Laptops aren’t just stolen from public places, in fact our research has shown that a third of all British laptop thefts happen from homes, so it’s important to be covered at all times, even if the device never leaves the home.”

Anthony O’Mara, VP EMEA at Trend Micro added, “More households than ever have multiple computing devices. We wanted to offer customers something unique that would provide online security for their PC, Mac, netbook and mobile devices, as well as LoJack for Laptops, which provides an additional layer of security in case of theft by providing the user with remote data freeze, delete and locate options, or with the physical recovery of the device through Absolute’s theft recovery team.”

Trend Titanium Edition is available for consumers from UK-wide PC World and Currys stores, and at Dixons.co.uk, for £79.99.
