Secureworks adds XDR to security analytics platform and MSSP scheme
Taegis XDR aims to protect users from threats that exploit vulnerabilities in the supply chain
Cyber security provider Secureworks has lifted the lid on its new security analytics platform Secureworks Taegis XDR, as well as the addition of a new global MSSP initiative to its Global Partner Programme.
With extended threat detection and response (XDR), the new Taegis XDR offering aims to protect users from threats that exploit gaps in point solutions and vulnerabilities in the supply chain, the firm says.
A cloud-native SaaS solution, it bundles together Secureworks’ security operations expertise with its threat intelligence capabilities to detect and respond to attacks across cloud, endpoint and network environments.
The platform also helps infoSec teams bridge their cyber security skills gaps while reducing costs where security blind spots previously existed, Secureworks added.
“When we first began developing Taegis, our original vision on where the market would go aligns squarely with what is now considered an XDR solution,” explained Steve Fulton, chief product officer at Secureworks. “We built a cloud-native security analytics platform and detection & response application—now officially Taegis XDR—from the ground up, with that vision in mind.
“XDR wasn’t an afterthought for us, or a label we decided to put on a point-product. It was the fundamental design-principle and architecture from where we started.”
The provider has also launched a new MSSP track within its Secureworks Global Partner Programme, aimed at both MSPs and MSSPs.
Leveraging the firm’s 20-plus years’ experience as an MSSP itself, the programme enables partners to deliver services on the Taegis platform to create additional revenue streams and service offerings to protect customer growth, as well as tackle difficult threats together.
The initiative offers access to the Secureworks Taegis security platform, which includes financial incentives, a defined enablement path, an assigned partner access manager, as well as dedicated partner support.
It also provides security operations centre (SOC) development for MSSPs, as well as training and enablement for delivering Taegis XDR, Tageis VDR and premium onboarding services. Additionally, there are financial incentives for partners - such as deal registration discounts and access to marketing development funds.
Secureworks said it is currently working with four geographically dispersed partners in the programme’s initial phase - including Globe Business, the enterprise arm of Globe Telecom.
