ProLion has announced a channel partner recruitment drive in the UK, as the ransomware and data protection provider steps up its international expansion.

The Austria-based firm said the channel will become a major driver for its growth across Europe and North America, as an increasing number of businesses demand ransomware solutions due to numerous data breaches and increasing security concerns.

ProLion offers a core solution - CryptoSpike - as a security and data governance offering for the data centre, designed go eliminate downtime and data loss risks within ONTAP environments.

The firm already provides data insights for more than 450 customers across retail, finance, telco, healthcare and manufacturing. Now, it is looking to expand its partner numbers on UK shores.

“We have some ambitious growth targets, and we are looking for channel partners that can help us drive this,” commented Steve Arlin, ProLion’s VP Sales, UK, Americas & APAC. “ProLion is a highly desirable solution for companies that want to provide a simple, secure solution to preventing ransomware threats to cloud and on-premises applications and services.”

On top of its ransomware protection solutions, the provider also offers a range of always-on data availability products, such as ClusterLion for Metro Cluster and ClusterLion for SAP Services. There’s also data management and analytics products such as DataOptimiser, DataAnalyzer and RestoreManager.

According to threat hunting and cyber-intelligence company Group-IB, the number of ransomware attacks grew by more than 150% in 2020. It’s research also pointed to these attacks growing in scale and sophistication, with the average ransom demand increasing more than twofold to £120,000 last year.

ProLion says its range of security and protection tools will help prepare businesses from this ever-increasing threat, as well as enable its partners to thrive.

“Our suite of solutions, can seamlessly be built into any company’s wider IT security strategy, enabling data protection for end users, accelerating partner profitability, and providing our partners a predictable business environment, so we are confident this will have every success in this channel,” Arlin added.
