In an announcement, ZoomInfo said the cybersecurity expert will work alongside Chief Compliance Officer Simon McDougall and its privacy team to ensure the limited, non-sensitive data the company collects and stores remains protected.

Gershoni will also act as a resource for customers, advising them on best practices for accessing, processing, and possessing ZoomInfo’s data, the firm added.

“Our customers rely on ZoomInfo’s dedication to being on top of the latest cyber security practices when it comes to protecting the data within our platform,” Gershoni commented. “It’s up to us to stay a step ahead of emerging threats while building trust with our customers.”

Gershoni brings a wealth of experience to the business, accumulated over two decades in the cybersecurity industry. He holds several patents in the domain of privacy by design and information security risk management, has contributed to various information security-related academic papers, and is a Certified Information Security Manager.

Previously, Gershoni served as Chief Information Security Officer and Head of Cyber Defense for the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD). Reporting directly to the country’s prime minister, he was responsible for all cyber defence initiatives for both classified and unclassified operations, as well as advising the organization on improving the country’s robustness for cyber security threats.

Most recently, Gershoni held the position of Senior Director and Head of Security Engineering & Cyber Defense Center for Imperva and has previously served as Chief Products Security Officer at HPE’s Software division, as well as CISO for its SaaS business.

“As a security- and privacy-first company, there’s no cutting corners when it comes to protecting ZoomInfo’s data assets,” said ZoomInfo Founder and CEO Henry Schuck. “With invaluable cybersecurity experience, Tomer will lead ZoomInfo and its digital entities into a safer and more secure future.”
