Acronis expands access to Acronis Cyber Protect

As businesses shift to remote work, comprehensive endpoint security becomes a must

Acronis is expanding access to Acronis Cyber Protect through a beta version that’s now available to all IT teams.

While Acronis Cyber Protect was previously released as a cloud offering via its service providers, IT teams can now deploy the beta solution’s unique capabilities and effectively safeguard all data, applications and systems.

With this beta release, Acronis Cyber Protect is now able to meet the needs of teams in regulated industries deploying local non-networked devices and companies with remote work policies that must meet organizational data protection and cybersecurity standards.

“The COVID-19 pandemic requires more businesses than ever to adopt remote work policies,” shared Acronis Executive Officer Serguei Beloussov.

“While remote work offers a lot of benefits, it can put valuable company data at risk as it is accessed and used on home networks that are more vulnerable to cyber attacks. We’ve already seen how Acronis Cyber Protect can eliminate those risks in third-party managed environments. Releasing it as a beta empowers more organizations to choose how they protect their data, devices, and infrastructure,” Beloussov continued.

According to a recent survey from Gartner, 74% of organizations intend to make a permanent shift to remote work for some employees. In making such a shift, the ability to add comprehensive endpoint security without having to change IT staffing requirements becomes a critical business need.

Fortunately, Acronis Cyber Protect is able to solve these challenges by going beyond traditional antivirus solutions by using AI-based behavioral and heuristic antimalware to effectively stop ransomware and cryptojacking attacks in real-time.

Brian Shield, vice president of IT for the Boston Red Sox gave his perspective on Acronis Cyber Protect, sharing: “Since partnering with Acronis in 2019, the Boston Red Sox have improved our data resiliency and created a more efficient, secure workflow that benefits the team both on and off the field. In 2020, we plan to pilot and roll out Acronis’ new solution, Acronis Cyber Protect.”

“The platform complements existing endpoint security tools that we already have in place through Major League Baseball's cybersecurity program and will be a great addition to the Acronis cyber protection solutions we currently use,” Shield continued.

Founded in Singapore in 2003, Acronis is well known for setting the standard for cyber protection. Its solutions are trusted by 5.5 million consumers along with 500,000 businesses, including 100% of the Fortune 1000 companies.
