Value-added distributor Achab has announced an expansion into the UK as the Italian firm looks to become the trusted partner of choice for MSPs that serve the SME market.
Building on its successful growth strategy in Italy, Achab is building a new sales and support team from its a new office in Reading, where it will look to recruit vendor and MSP partners.
The distributor is also introducing two new software solutions to the UK market – anti-phishing offering Cyberfish and cloud-native workspace Cameyo.
Designed for MSPs and SMEs, Cyberfish detects and blocks phishing emails from unknown sources automatically and in real-time. The software offers up to ten times better detection compared to traditional offerings, thanks to patented technologies based on AI and computer vision.
Cameyo enables the secure delivery of Windows and internal web applications to any device from any browser – without the need for VPNs – to provide MSPs with ‘anywhere’ access to business-critical apps.
Achab said it is also looking to bring a number of solutions developed by Italian vendors to UK MSPs, creating a "fast lane" for new vendors to enter the country.
"Due to the global pandemic, organisations are facing a myriad of challenges related to remote working, cybersecurity, and the cloud at a time when they are also struggling to embrace innovations such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive data analytics," explained Andrea Veca, CEO of Achab. “More and more businesses are therefore relying on MSPs who can create flexible IT infrastructures that are safe, efficient and cost-effective.

Achabs’s new UK business will be led by managing director Philip Sansom, who brings 16 years’ experience in the MSP market, having held key sales and management roles at Datto, Kaseya and IT Glue. He is joined by MSP industry expert Simon Bell, former Head of Technology at IT service provider Complete IT.
Achab said the pair will drive the firm’s aggressive growth strategy in the UK by recruiting a team of sales and technical support professionals, expanding the vendor partner base, as well developing strong relationships with MSP partners in the UK.
