Buffered VPN review
An effective and robust way of accessing websites when you're away from home
Hungary-based Buffered is one of the VPN market's newest providers, and while it might not be the biggest around, it makes up for it by offering a fast service with quality servers on tap to connect to.
It supports a number of platforms, including Linux, Mac, iOS and Android in addition to Windows. Buffered uses IP sharing, which adds to subscribers' anonymity. The company also has a 'no logging' policy so individual activities aren't monitored, which will be a boon to privacy-conscious users.
It uses OpenVPN software to set up and connect to its VPN servers. Buffered's VPN servers are located in 33 countries, and users can enjoy unlimited bandwidth and server switches.
All data is encrypted using Blowfish CBC 128-bit when connected to the service, but unfortunately, Buffered does not provide support for PPTP or L2TP/IPsec protocols.
Monthly plans start from $12.99 per month, with all amounts charged in US Dollars. Bi-yearly and annual subscriptions are also available, with savings on offer if you plump for a longer-term subscription.
